Ancient people believed that the mist rising from the base of the cascade connected Heaven and Earth, hence the falls were used as a customary burial location.
Denali, Alaska
Denali is the highest mountain in North America, rising 6,190 m (20,310 ft) above sea level at its summit. Although it is still occasionally referred to by its previous name, Mount McKinley, the Koyukon people who live in the region around the summit have been calling the peak Denali for generations.
